At the end of May we accepted a quote for a Bannockburn wood burner which could be installed with a black steel custom surround keeping the exisitng wooden surround and retiling the hearth adn fitting a three sided black steel border.
We wanted to keep the historical character of the villa. Only one installer was recommended to do the work to the standard required so together with the fitting into his schedule and DUnedin CC’s somewhat slow process of issuing consents and final inspeciton for code of compliance certificate, the work was not completed untill early July.
However the work was excellent and the tenants love the huge amount of heat it produces from less wood.
Can I recommend anybody dealing with the Fireplace.
